MACBETH (2019)
Macbeth is an exploration of the architectural structures that contain a theatrical performance.
I set out to experiment with staging a performance within a container that’s far removed from what would be considered an acceptable theatrical container. A magazine, being a highly visual as well as a sensory, tactile experience, seems to sit in the middle of reading a playtext and seeing that play performed onstage.
This yielded the idea of a magazine spread that would serve as a performance site and effectively house a production of Macbeth. By making available both a print and a digital copy, my intention was to provide a comprehensive experience of encountering the play as a magazine.
Macbeth can be viewed here in full.
This project was developed on the Advanced Theatre Practice course at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
